The American Dream

I agree with him partially when he says that to believe in the American dream you have to be asleep. I agree partially because in this day and age the "American Dream" is something that you can only dream of for most people, and the fact everyone's definition can be different. In my opinion there is a very small percentage of people who have made the American Dream happen. Those people turn out to be the rich people, or well paid persons. People that think they achieved the American Dream are really in denial, nothing has been achieved. Then again everyone's definition of the American Dream can differ. I'm pretty sure all immigrants come to the US with some dream in mind. Nine times out of ten that dream is to start in a new country and make a better life for their family. Most are able to provide for their family and get them to better schools but is it more to their dream than that? I honestly don't believe in the American Dream because the way things are going you are always going to have to work just to make ends meet because the prices of things are always going up and SSI is being taken away slowly but surely. Since I really don't believe in the American Dream I believe in working hard and doing what's best for me, because I don't need a big house and a fancy yard 2.5 kids and a white picket fence. What's your American Dream folk reading this?
